Track 1: Decision Aid in Logistics and Engineering

Ghassan Abu-Lebdeh is professor of transport systems and Coordinator of the Engineering Systems Management PhD Program at the American University of Sharjah, UAE. Dr. Abu-Lebdehʼs areas of research interest/teaching are optimization of traffic operations, sustainability and public health in transport systems. He completed his studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (Ph.D.), USA. His academic and industry experience spans 29 years in transportation systems operations and planning with periods at Michigan State University, University of Kentucky, and the Metropolitan Planning Organizations in Worcester, Massachusetts, and in Urban-Champaign, Illinois

Track 2: Medical Decision Making

Davide La Torre is a Mathematician, Researcher, and University Professor. Currently he holds the position of  Full Professor of Artificial Intelligence and Quantitative Methods at the PRISM Research Center of SKEMA Business School (Sophia Antipolis Campus, France). He is also the Director of the SKEMA Institute for Artificial Intelligence, and the Head of the SKEMA PGE programs in Finance and Quants and Artificial Intelligence and Data Science for Managers. His research and teaching interests include Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for Business, Business and Industrial Analytics, Economic Dynamics, Mathematical and Statistical Modeling, Operations Management, Operations Research, and Portfolio Management. He holds a Master in Applied and Industrial Mathematics (1997, magna cum laude) and a PhD in Computational Mathematics and Operations Research (2002) both from the University of Milan, Milan, Italy and professional certificates in Big Data and Analytics (2017) from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, USA. In the past he held permanent and visiting university professor positions in Europe, Canada, Middle East, Central Asia, and Australia. He also served as Departmental Chair and Program Head at several universities. He has more than 150 publications in Scopus, most of them published in high IF journals ranging from Engineering to Business.

Track 3: Computerized Decision Aid

Dr. Ali is currently the Director of the Media Center at the University of Bahrain. He is also the President of ISACA Bahrain Chapter (formally known as Information Systems Audit and Control Association). He is an active mentor, contributor and speaker, participating in both local and international conferences and being involved in a number of initiatives related to leveraging the power of youth.. Dr. Ali has also received various awards for his work. In 2010, he received the best paper award at Australasian Conference on Information Systems (ACIS) held in Brisbane, Australia. Thanks to the instrumental work he has developed inside ISACA Bahrain, the Chapter received in 2018 the best Innovative Chapter Program Award from ISACA International for training students and fresh graduates in IT governance. His research has been published in various international journals such as Association of Information Systems, Journal of Information Technology for Development and Journal of Systems and Information Technology.

Track 6: Financial Decision Making

Sabri Boubaker | SCBS
Sabri Boubaker is a Professor of Finance at EM Normandie and Research Fellow at the Institut de Recherche en Gestion (University of Paris Est). He holds a Ph.D. in Finance from University of Paris Est (2006) and a HDR degree (Habilitation for Supervising Doctoral Research) in 2010 from the same university. Sabri Boubaker has taught various finance courses for undergraduate, graduate and executives at many universities and business schools around the world. Sabri Boubaker has recently published many academic papers (+80 papers) in international refereed journals, edited many research books and serves on editorial boards as associate editor and subject editor of many finance and management top-tier academic journals. He is the co-founder and co-chair of the annual Paris Financial Management Conference (2013–) and of the Vietnam Symposium in Banking and Finance (VSBF) series (2016–). He is also the President of the International Society for the Advancement of Financial Economics (ISAFE).

Track 9: Management Decision

Mohamed Dia is a Full Professor of Operations Management and Quantitative Methods, and the Vice-Dean Research of the Faculty of Management at Laurentian University. His research focuses on multicriteria decision aid, data envelopment analysis, fuzzy sets, and on the applications of these techniques in supply chain management, resources management, finance, portfolio selection, and in various other areas.

Track 13: Decision Making Using IoT and ML

Mohamed Baqer is currently the Acting Vice President for Information Technology Services, Administrative and Financial Affairs, and Dean of the College of Applied Studies, as well as a faculty member at the Department of Computer Engineering, College of Information Technology. Additionally, Dr. Baqer is an ACM and Senior IEEE member. Dr. Baqer is a keynote speaker and reviewer of many conferences and journals and an active researcher in the fields of artificial intelligence and the Internet of the Future. Moreover, He has numerous publications in cybersecurity, internet safety and energy efficient algorithms, and linking social networks to the internet.  Prior to joining the University of Bahrain in 2008, Dr. Baqer studied his Masters in Computer Networks and PhD at Monash University. Dr. Baqer researched Peer-to-Peer, Network Security, Mobile IP, and Wireless Systems during his Master and Doctorate degrees from Monash University where he was awarded numerous scholarships

Track 14: Energy Management Decisions

M. R. Qader is an Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Bahrain. He attained his B.Sc. (Hons) in electrical engineering from the University of Bahrain in 1991. In the United Kingdom, Dr. Qader attained his M.Sc. (1993) and Ph.D. (1997) in the same field from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST). He is currently serving as the Dean of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research at the University of Bahrain. His research interests include power quality, assessment of voltage sags, and power systems.
Since joining the Deanship of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Qader has been involved in implementing SDGs and Green Energy Programs at the University of Bahrain. He has also chaired many international conferences and projects, such as “Internationalization of Higher Education”, “Sustainability and Resilience.” and “Modeling, Simulation and Applied Optimization”
